Manose pays homage to the traditional music of his Nepalese homeland with a collection of vibrant flute pieces backed by sarangi, guitar and rhythmic percussion. The music has an appealing folk music quality to it - while listening, you can't help but imagine festivals and dances in the villages around Kathmandu. The mood is upbeat and joyous, with bright flute arrangements interweaving with the sarangi's characteristic Asian lute sound. "In the Spider's Web" is a great example of the album's sprightly feel - the music is buoyant and danceable, capturing the charm of Nepalese courtship rituals. "Fluttering Silk" is a beloved folk tune from the region and Manose captures it's whimsy well.
