Released in 1985, this album embraced the notion of 'world music' by speaking to current issues on the world stage. The music presented contemporary issues of the date and used the platform of pop music to deliver the message to dance floors and radio. Alpha Blondy helped create the template for 'world music' and established a place for international reggae in the global marketplace. The pop sensibilities are present whether he is singing in English, French, Hebrew or his native language - Dioula.
