In this recording Harry Fleetwood, a noted classical radio host, reads excerpts from the epic poem by American writer Henry Wadsworth Longfellow about the Indian hero Hiawatha. Based on the legends and ethnography of the Ojibwe and other Native American people, the poem relates episodes of romance and adventure in the wilderness of the Great Lakes region.
