Utilizing outside production for an entire album for the first time, Guided By voices recruited producer/pop-genuis Ric Ocasek (The Cars guy), who re-envisioned the ban'ds sound into an explosive barrage of overcharged guitarsand layered vocals, sweeping strings and strange noises.
