Mashkoor Ali Khan sings in the style of the Kirana Gharana, characterized by it's melody-dominant approach to music-making. Kirana vocalists specialize in the systematic and encyclopedic exploration of the raga, and are known for their mastery over the delivery of each note in all it's subtlety and emotive power. "Raga Lalit" and "Miyan ki Todi" are classic early morning ragas conveying feelings of awe and devotion infused with a certain sadness.
