Description

DESCRIPTION
Irma Neumuller is a Swedish jazz vocalist and composer who writes music in both Swedish and English, where she gives new life to the traditional jazz sound with her personal touch. The music is swinging, uplifting and at times emotional. Musical influences include Carmen McRae, Monica Zetterlund and Stevie Wonder. With her strong stage presence, Irma welcomes the entire audience into her musical world.

Irma Neumuller was born in 2001 in Stockholm and began her musical journey in the classical world when she started playing the cello at the age of four. After twelve years as a cellist, she opened her eyes to jazz and it's singing tradition. Irma studied jazz vocals at Sodra Latin's high school in Stockholm and two years at the nationally renowned Skurup pre-college before moving to Berlin where she currently studies at the Jazz Institute Berlin. In recent years, Irma Neumuller has been successful on stages all over Sweden. She has been appointed "Young Swedish Soloist 2023" by the Swedish performing arts organization "Scenkonst Sormland", received several scholarships and is recurrently praised by jazz critics. Her debut album, "Introducing Irma Neumuller", will be released on February 23, 2024 under the label Naxos/Prophone
